Texas Energy Provider Contributes to Gulf Cleanup Effort

by Michelle on January 8, 2011

Reliant Energy of Texas, which is a retail electricity company competing on the unregulated Texas energy market, is one of the many contributors to the Gulf cleanup effort that has been underway for some time.

The money contributed by the company is for the use of supporting Louisiana fisherman who suffered losses due to the catastrophe.

Reliant Energy is only one of the numerous companies selling electricity in Texas and consumers should compare them to other companies by calling 1-800-971-4020.

  • Reliant contributed a total of $150,000 to the Gulf cleanup effort which will go to the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation.
  • NRG, the company that owns Reliant Energy, contributed matching gifts to those donated by employees to raise the money.
  • NRG is a trusted name in energy as is Reliant which serves many Texas residents.

It’s one thing to choose an energy company that offers their consumers savings and another to choose a company that offers that plus.

NRG and Reliant seem to care about their consumers as well as their community which means a lot more than savings to some people.

If you are one of these people it is important to know what the many different energy companies offer before making a choice.

Contact Electric Rates and they will help you sort through the offerings of the many different energy providers in Texas.

For a simple comparison right now interested consumers can use the Electric Rates comparison tool on this page and find out right away how much money they can save.
