Texas Has All Shapes and Sizes of Electricity Plans

by admin on July 26, 2012

If you are shopping for electricity in Texas you are in luck. There are plans of all shapes and sizes. Ok so they may not have a shape or size but there are several options for you to choose from.

Renewable energy plans offer you the ability to save the planet by reducing harmful admissions. From solar panels to wind power, renewable plans have got you covered. Almost every Retail Electric Provider (REP) offers a wide range of plans.

Type in your zip code into the residential box then click compare to shop. You will see a list of electric companies’ plans for your area.

Questions You Should Ask When Comparing

  • How long is the contract?
  • Are the TDSP charges averaged into my kilowatt hour rate? (Rate in our compare chart average in TDSP charges)
  • Is a deposit required?
  • What bill options are there?
  • Is the plan type variable or fixed?

These are just the basic questions you should ask an electric company before signing up.

Short term variable plans offer you the most flexibility. These plans never have a contract and you can switch providers at any time.

Fixed plans are great for the long term. If the market crashes and/or prices go up you will be paying the same rate you started with.

If you shop here at electricrates.com you don’t have to think about TDSP charges because they are averaged in our rates. If you do your shopping elsewhere on the web and the prices seem low check to make sure they are including TDSP charges.

Deposits are required if your credit scores are low. Don’t worry because there are no-deposit plans.

Check to make sure you favorite bill options are available through the REP you are signing up with. Not every company offers online bill pay.

Utility mangers/business owner can call 1-800-971-4020 to get a no obligation energy proposal. The reverse auction process gets several energy providers competing for your business which gets you a lower electricity rate.
