Obama’s lie about climate change means higher electric rates

by Luke Johnson on July 23, 2013

In a recent article on CFact.com it was brought to the attention of readers that Obama lied about climate change saying “What we do know is the temperature around the globe is increasing—faster than was predicted even ten years ago.”

Since 1997 the levels of warming have not increased any faster than before 1997. The question is why did the President lie?

The Environmental Protection Agency has been mandating new regulations on emissions which has caused several power plants to shut down. An increased electric rate should be expected to follow the closing of the plants.

288 coal power plants are expected to close unless regulations are lifted. With fewer plants the demand for the generation should increase.

The easy answer to why Obama “lied” about climate change is to drive as many regulations as possible through using fear to hit the proverbial nail on the head. The real question is does Obama see what the higher regulations means for our country as a whole?
